Mount Vernon, with a 2003 population of 27,060, boasts great activities for every season. Located in Skagit County (106,700 residents in 2003), we are the home of the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, as well as the trumpeter swans that spend the winter just outside city limits. Skagit Valley College is an award-winning community college that serves three counties. We also have local lakes for fishing, swimming and boating fun.

The winter season offers exciting events too such as the Annual Haunted Forest or the Downtown Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.
